Mangaluru: Following an audio clipping of two unidentified women speaking about the shortcomings in the Coronavirus treatment facilities at District Wenlock Hospital, Hospital superintendent Dr Rajeshwaridevi filed a written complaint with Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha.

The Hospital Superintendent has sought stringent action against those who spread false messages.

The audio clipping of over 16 mins covers an entire conversation between two women, one of whom comes across to be an employee of the hospital.

She specifically speaks about the failure of the Superintendent of the Hospital in providing facilities for handling Coronavirus cases and lack of safety to workers.

“There is no concept of isolation,” the lady says adding that screening of suspects, blood tests etc are all happening in middle of the building, exposing everyone to Coronavirus.

“These suspects are all sitting out there, sneezing, coughing in open. They say there is one positive case, I doubt it. The positive case and the suspects under observation are all in one ward,” she says adding that the Superintendent has misled the entire district about the measures taken.

“God save us,” the lady tells the other, who wonders how someone can be so careless during such dire situation.

She also says that the Superintendent is inefficient and passive and also goes on to say that even the DC needs to be pro-active.

The lady says that even if they speak about these issues, nobody will dare to inspect as everyone is fearing for life.

Close on the heels of rumours on Wenlock Hospital MP Nalin Kumar Kateel visited Wenlock Hospital on Tuesday morning, in order to take stock of the situation.

Though district civil judge Kadlur Sathyanarayanachar was supposed to visit Wenlock Hospital to take stock of the situation, on Tuesday noon, it was cancelled last minute.

It may be recalled that one video of a man gasping for air had gone viral on Monday. Though it was said that the video was shot in Wenlock Hospital, it was later clarified that it was a mere rumour.

Compol had earlier warned people of stern action if they spread rumours.
