Mangaluru: The ‘Artisan Identity Card’ distribution programme for gold and silver craftsmen was held on Friday September 3 under the auspices of the Handicraft Extension Centre of the Ministry of Textiles, Daivajnya Brahmana Gold and Silver Workers’ Association.

The event was inaugurated by Hemalatha Sathish Shet, a former member of the BBMP.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that this Artisan Card is recognition for gold-silver artisans and that this card can be used to take advantage of any new scheme from the Central Government.

Artisan cards were distributed to over a hundred gold-silver craftsmen.

Hemalatha Sathish Shet and local corporators Jayalakshmi and Ganesha Kulal and Handloom Promotion Officer Aflah Hasan were felicitated on this occasion.
