Subrahmanya : The State president of Malekudiya Sangha, Bhaskar Bendodi who had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court not to ban the Made Made Snana has victoriously addressed the media on Wednesday January 15.
He said that the Supreme court has dismissed the petition filed by Sri Channamalla Veerabhadra Swami, the seer of Nidumamidi Samsthan and other like-minded organizations seeking ban of Made Snana at Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple during its annual temple festival.
During the press meet Bhaskar Bendodi said that it is a practice in the temple from centuries. Nobody is being pressurized to perform the ritual. Further the devotees perform the ritual at their accord.
Malekudiya tribals who have been original residents of Subrahmanya will not tolerate anybody impairing traditional and religious beliefs associated with the temple. It is the constitutional right of the tribals to safeguard the traditional right and religious belief of the temple, he added.
The State Government cannot execute laws which will impede the religious practices of a community or a tribal group, thus the High Court has also dismissed the petition filed by Sullia’s Karunakar Yennemajalu seeking the ban of Pankti Bedha practiced in the temple, he added.
