Mangaluru: On Saturday, January 14, Bikarnakatta witnessed a gathering of thousands for the annual feast of Infant Jesus Shrine.

Bishop of Bellari, Fr. Dr. Henry D’Souza, Provincial of Karnataka-Goa division, Fr. Charles Serrao and Mangaluru Bishop Fr. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza also took part in the celebrations with great fervor. Masses and sermons were conducted throughout the day followed by special prayer services.

In his address to the gathering, Bellari Bishop Fr. Dr. Henry D’Souza said, “Jesus came to earth with an intention of giving the purest form of love as the son of God. He set an example for us by living a humble life. We have to take his life example as an inspiration and walk the path that he set for us.”

A ‘Horekaanike’ procession was organized from Kulashekar Church to Infant Jesus Shrine as a part of the feast. Nine days of Novena was also conducted from January 5 to January 13.

Infant Jesus feast will be conducted on Sunday, January 15 as well with a mass celebrated by conducted by Shivamogga Bishop Fr. Dr. Francis Serrao.
