Mangaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Amit Shah held a road show in the city on May 8, amid a rousing reception by the party workers.

The road show that began from PVS Circle, continued through Navabharath Circle, Dongerkery and culminated at Car Street.

A large crowd marched along with Amit Shah’s campaign vehicle, showering him with flowers. Amit Shah sought the support of the voters for D Vedavyas Kamath, MLA candidate for Mangaluru South, in the Karnataka elections scheduled for May 12.

Addressing the gathering at Car Street, Amit Shah continued his attack on the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in the state. He claimed that the people would send Siddaramiah’s government home on May 15. Despite several murders of Hindu activists, Siddaramaiah’s government has failed to arrest the accused, he said. The murderers involved in these deadly crimes, would be punished once Yeddyurappa’s government comes in Karnataka, he assured.

Amit Shah also held road shows in Mangaluru (Ullala) and Mangaluru North constituencies.

Later, Shah also visited Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara temple and offered prayers.
