Bangalore:  Kannada film star Ambarish has said that he would not contest on a Congress ticket from Mandya if the party chose to field Ravindra Srikantayya who had worked against him in the earlier Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. This fresh development has posed a big head ache to the Congress just when it thought  that everything settled down.

The efforts made by several Congress leaders including Congress in-charge Madhusudan Mistri, AICC General Secretary  Oscar Fernandes, Opposition leader  Siddaramaiah and KPCC Chief G Parameshwar  to persuade Ambarish, have gone in vain.

In the meantime, Ambarish who spoke t o reporters has said that there was no change in his decision and he will not contest unless his demand was fulfilled.
