Alvas team wins national level Kabaddi tournament

Moodbidri: Alvas team won the national level A grade Kabaddi championship held in Bhadravathi from April 2 to 5. The championship was held in association with Appaji Sports Club Bhadravathi.

In the semi-final Alvas team beat Palam team from Delhi  8-3,  and Baba Haridas team, Haryana team defeated SMC Otta Chetham team from TamilNadu 19-17 and entered the finals.

In the finals Baba Haridas team lost the game against Alvas team by 16-16 points.

Yogalaxmi from SMC team was adjudged Best rider, Ravitha from Baba Haridas was the best catcher and Muthavva Nidavani from Alva was the best alrounder of the championship.

Alvas girls qualify for National level wrestling contest

Alvas girls team has been selected for the national level Junior and sub-junior wrestling competition which will be held from April 23 to 27 at Ranchi in Jharkhand.

Dhanashree(51kg), Mamatha(40kg), Laxmi(49kg) and Vidya(55kg) were selected for the national level contest.

The selection of Karnataka state wrestling team was held at a camp held in Dharwad on April 4.
