Alva’s Education Foundation donates Rs 50 lakhs to CM Relief Fund

Moodibidri: “The dream is to make students into societal assets through education, sports, and culture. This dream is being fulfilled by Mohan Alva and Alva’s College, we will continue supporting Alva’s which is doing a great job in serving students and society at a cost of Rs 33.85 crores per year,” said Karnataka Education Minister Suresh Kumar.

Kumar was speaking at a function where Alva’s Education Foundation donated Rs 50 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on Monday, September 30. He was the chief guest of this programme.

Blessing the occasion, Pejawar Mutt seer Srivishwesha Theertha said, “A socio-educational institute organising a literary and cultural festival in a systematic manner surpasses government events, organising such an event is model work. Alvas is a promising institution in the comprehensive field of education.”

Addressing the gathering, Karnataka Tourism Minister CT Ravi said, “We need to recognise and respect the good qualities in individuals as well as organisations. When the media prints positive news on the front page and the breaking news is positive, then the people also feel good.”

“The fact that more than four lakh students have access to such an education is front-page news. Not only the media but even society members should also appreciate such individuals and organisations for their work,” he added.

Afterwards, a demand draft (DD) of Rs 1 lakh was formally handed over from Alva’s Education Foundation to the Pejawar Mutt seer for his organisation called ‘Govardhana Giri Trust’.

Alva’s Education Foundation President Dr M Mohan Alva also spoke in detail at the event.

Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian, former MLAs K Amarnath Shetty and K Abhayachandra Jain, former MLC K Ganesh Kartik, and others were present.
