Mangalore: In a two day national seminar ‘Media Manthan’ today the Department of Journalism, Alva’s College bagged a championship trophy, while Xavier’s College from Goa, secured second place in the national media fest that held at the St. Aloysius College here in the city.

Several journalism students from across the country took part in the UGC sponsored two-day national seminar. The seminar was organised by the media students of St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru.

Media Manthan

Media Manthan is the flagship annual event held by the department of mass communication. In the past, the fest has dealt with a variety of themes on various topics such as ‘Media and manipulation’, ‘Media and Environment’, ‘100 years of Indian cinema’ and ‘Advertising’. The event has been a host to students, academicians and media professionals from colleges and organizations all across the country, and the fest includes paper presentations, talks from eminent personalities, competitions and panel discussions.
