Mangaluru: Air India Express has introduced two additional daily flights connecting Mangalore and Bangalore, bringing the total number of flights between the cities to seven per day. The inaugural flight, IX 782, commenced operations on Monday, and the second flight, IX 1795, is operating on the Kannur-Bangalore-Mangalore route.
A traditional water cannon salute greeted the arrival of the new aircraft at Mangalore International Airport. The launch of these flights was celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony, attended by representatives from the airport, Air India Express, and various stakeholder departments.
The second flight, IX 1795, departs from Kannur at 4:30 p.m., arriving in Bangalore at 5:50 p.m. It then continues to Mangalore, departing from Bangalore at 6:25 p.m. and reaching Mangalore at 7:35 p.m. The return leg operates as IX 792, a through flight to Thiruvananthapuram via Bangalore, departing from Mangalore at 8:15 p.m., reaching Bangalore at 9:30 p.m., and departing for Thiruvananthapuram at 10:20 p.m.
This enhanced connectivity aims to facilitate increased travel options for passengers between Mangalore and Bangalore.
