Mangaluru: As the district is gearing up for Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s visit to Shri Kshetra Dharamasthala Temple, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Alok Mohan visited Dharmasthala and Ujire and reviewed the security measures.
On October 29th Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dharmasthala and will later take part in a programme at Ujire organized by the Shri Kshetra Dharamsthala Rural Development Project.
The ADGP along with Western IGP Hemanth Nimbalkar and Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Reddy, visited the Ujire Rathnavarama Stadium (where PM will address the gathering), the Helipad at Dharamastala and gathered information from the temple authorities in order to provide tight security measures.
Security measures
SP Sudhir Kumar Reddy stated that the ADGP, IGP of SPG, and Western IGP have reviewed the security arrangements at the venues and other important sensitive locations.
25 teams of Anti-Naxal Force have already started combing the venues and their surrounding areas. Even the Anti-Sabotage checking teams are involved in all security work and have been stationed at Dharmasthala. The police department has already called in the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad. The security arrangements are in place with 10 SP rank officers, 150 officers (PSI- DSP) and around 2000 police officers overall.
