Mangaluru: Taking a dig at former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s criticism on Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s relief package for flower growers in the state, BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the former CM’s attempt to make ‘gold out of flower’ did not yield any result.
“Just like Rahul Gandhi, who made gold out of potato, Siddaramaiah too tried to make gold out of flower, but failed miserably,” said Kateel.
It may be recalled that Siddaramaiah became muse for several memers after he posted that flower cultivators invest Rs 50 lakh per acre and the state government is giving on Rs 25,000 per acre as relief.
He then demanded the state government to make sure it takes care of the remaining 50 per cent of the investment made by the flower cultivators.
It was evident that Siddaramaiah wanted to type Rs 50,000 in his tweet, but due to an typo error, he wrote Rs 50 lakhs.
Many netizens made memes out of the same.
Speaking on the same lines, Kateel said that Siddaramaiah is trying to get benefit by issuing fake statement.
“As Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has promised financial assistance to flower cultivating farmers, weavers, saloon owners among others, one should appreciate the pro-people programmes of Yediyurappa. But, Siddaramaiah is blaming Chief Minister only to gain political benefit, ” he added.
” If Siddaramaiah had concern over farmers why he did not come out with welfare programmes towards farmers, when farmers were committing suicide during his administration. During this tough situation of Covid-19, Siddaramaiah needs to support BSY. But, he is engaging in playing dirty politics, ” he rued.
