Mangaluru: BJP national president Amit Shah arrived in Mangaluru in the wee hours of Tuesday, October 3 before proceeding to Kerala to participate in a padayatra at Payannur.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP district president Sanjeeva Matandoor, Krishna J Palemar and several other party workers were present at the airport to welcome the party national president on his arrival here around 1 am on Tuesday. Heavy security was deployed at the airport.

Shah is likely to return to Mangaluru today evening itself. He will be attending a party meeting at Ocean Pearl hotel in the presence of state party leaders and office-bearers on October 4. On the same day, at 5pm he will be attending another meet at TMA Pai convention centre.
