Mangalore: A 23-year-old youth lawyer was killed, while one another person was injured after their car collided into a KSRTC bus near Sampya in Puttur taluk on Saturday, March 31.

The deceased has been identified as Gayatri, a resident of Kulagram, Bantwal who was working as a junior to advocate Prithviraj Rai in Mangaluru. The injured, Vikram is currently undergoing treatment at a city hospital.

The accident has been captured on CCTV.

As per reports, the WagonR car, being driven by Vikram collided head on into the KSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction near the mosque here in Aryappa village. The bus was plying towards Puttur.

Though both Gayatri and Vikram were immediately rushed to a hospital, Gayathri succumbed to her wounds without treatment. The accident is said to have occured due to overspeeding and recklessness of the car driver.

A case is registered in Puttur rural police station.
