Mangalore: It is going to be a fun-filled day with lots of paw prints, wet kisses, happy tails and furry butts!

The Animal Care Trust has organized an adopt-a-thon event, at the Hebich Technical Training Institute – Balmatta on Sunday October 12, where people from the city can adopt Indian puppies and kittens as their pets.

This event has adopted the tag line “Let’s Go Desi”, with the aim to eradicate abandoned animals and propagate Indian breeds. The endeavor of the organization is also to emphasize female pet adoption and make sterilization for these pets mandatory.

However, if a person loves animals and is unable to, or does not want to adopt, they could also signup as volunteers, foster, sponsor a pet or make a donation towards the wish list for the animals.

All puppies and cats at the Adopt-a-thon are free of cost; however a nominal amount of Rs 300 will be charged towards Vaccination and de – worming of the pets. For more details one may contact Animal Care Trust (Shaktinagar) or Call – 0824 – 6511053.
