Mangaluru: Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) of Mangaluru CCRB Valentine D’Souza and Mumbai-based banker John D’Silva were felicitated by Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on March 5.Valentine D’Souza after felicitation, thanking said that his dreams have been accomplished. “Taking part in international body-building championship, getting the post of DySP and being honoured with President’s medal was my dream. This award will help me to continue my service in coming days. I have struggled due to immense political intervention when I was posted in Udupi. But the people and my community have been a great support to continue my service despite all hurdles,” he said.

John D’Silva calling upon everyone to be job creators instead of job seekers, said that people need to change their attitude towards life. “My days in Mumbai helped me to do better. I have come across several people from my own community reaching great heights through perseverance. But it is sad that people from Christian community rarely join army and I think we need a military school to encourage today’s youth,” he said.

ACP Valentine D’Souza was felicitated following his President’s Medal for Meritorious Service and John D’Silva was honoured for bagging the annual New Year Award from Manipal University and awards from the Academy of General Education and Syndicate Bank.

Rachana bulletin was launched on the occasion by the two awardees.
