Kasargod: In a tragic incident newly married woman was killed in a car-rikshaw accident here at Cheruvathur market on NH on September 4.

Vijitha(20) was killed on the spot when a car hit the rikshaw in which she was travelling. In the mishap four other persons her husband Praveen (30), his brother Vijesh (32), brother’s wife Sandhya (24), another brother’s daughter Hisani (3) and auto driver Manoj (30) were injured.

Injured have been admitted at private hospital in Mangalore and in Cheruvathur.

The mishap took place when the family was heading towards Parassinikkadavu in a auto. The auto toppled when the driver of new car lost control and rammed into the rikshaw.

Vijita wife of E V Praveen, a resident of Pallikere, Kulangara in Nileshwar wed on July 5, 2014.

Daughter of Chittarikkal Arakapatt Vijayan and Lalitha, Vijita has a sister.

Hosadurg police have registered a case in this regard.
