ACB nabbed revenue officer red-handed accepting bribe

Mangaluru: The officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested an assistant revenue officer of Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) when he was allegedly taking bribe money from a person on Friday, September 28.

The officer who was trapped by the ACB has been identified as Srinivas. Sources in the Anti-corruption bureau informed that a resident of Bajpe had sought for documents and NOC after clearing his loan of Rs 9,500 from KHB, which was availed by his ancestors. However, assistant revenue officer Srinivas and assistant executive engineer Vijay Bhaskar allegedly demanded a bribe amount of Rs 10,000 in order to provide documents and NOC certificate. Followed by the complaint, police had been to the Housing Board office and arrested Srinivas while accepting a bribe, sources said.

A case has been registered in this regard and investigation is on.
