ABVP to launch awareness drive against atrocities on eves

Mangalore:Ramesh K, State Secretary of ABVP has informed that his organization will be holding a national level awareness campaign named ‘Students-Walk for Women Protection’ from October 23.

Speaking to reporters here, he said  the campaign has been organised in the wake of rising cases of atrocities on women. He said the failure to enforce the law strictly has led to rising cases  of crime against women.

He said the awareness drive planned by ABVP aims at reducing the  incidences of violence against women. The ABVP will also submit memoranda enlisting 25 demands on safety of women. He said the ABVP wants the government to hand over the Sowjanya case to the CBI and  impartial probe into the Akshatha death case reported from Mangalore.
