ABVP organizes Round Table conference on Women’s Safety

Mangalore :Akhila Bharata Vidhyarti Parishat organized a round table conference at SDM Law College here on saturday to discuss the issues related on the “safety of women healthy society”.In the conference a resolution with 12 point agenda was passed mainly demanding the govt to open womens helpline in police stations.

Womens Commission former Chairperson Manjula said that the commisssinon had carried out a study in all the 30 districts and prepared a report on missing girls during the previous govt.

Former MP and Journalist Thejaswini Ramesh stressed the need to sensitise judiaciary in handling the victims of sexual abuse and harrassment. We should fight non-politically in opposing the instances of moral policing and sexual harrassment on women,she said.

Nagarika Seva Trust vice president Vidya Nayak,Advocate Soorath Kumar,TV Journalist Reshma Ullal were also present in the conference.
