Bantwal :No one must be allowed to play with the lives of young women. The government must ensure strictest of strict punishment to rapists, demanded Jayaprakash, Mangalore Division Organisational Secretary of the ABVP.

He was speaking at a huge protest meet organised by the ABVP in front of the Taluk Office in BC Road on Thursday July 17 to condemn the rising cases of crime against women.
Jayaprakash further urged the government to give a free hand to the police department in tackling such cases. Alleging that the Home Minister has failed in discharging his duties efficiently, he also demanded the resignation of the minister.
Tungappa Bangera, BC Commission Member, Student leaders Sinidhi, Vasudeva and others spoke on the occasion.
The protestors submitted a memorandum enlisting their demands to the government through the Tahsildar. The memorandum urged stern punishment to Nasir, the accused in the case of sexual assault of a PG student in Bangalore, to arrest the killers of Ratna of Byndoor and to undertake a thorough probe into the sexual assault on a Class One student in Bangalore.
Earlier, the students took out a procession from Polali Dwara to the Tahsildar’s office.
