Puttur: Sampya police on Friday arrested a man who was accused in an assualt case, which took place in 2014, who was absconding since a year.

Jiyad from Bappalige is the accused.

In 2014, the accused had stormed into the house of one Gopala Suvarna in Balnad and assaulted him. He was booked under section 307. After he was released on bail, he didnot appear before the court for questioning and was absconding. Hence, the court had issued warrant against the accused.

However, on February 26, the Sampya police arrested him at Kille ground in Puttur.
