Mangaluru: In order to find a logical success against growing communalism, it is important to fight racism, untouchability, gender discrimination, corruption and capitalism apart from the mainstream communal elements, opined Karnataka Chief Minister’s Media Adviser Dinesh Amin Mattu.

He was addressing a convention on ‘Role of Political Parties in Abolishing Communalism’ organized as part of the Saha Balve programme by the Komu Souharda Vedike at Town Hall here on Saturday January 30.

He said that the Shudras are dragged to the jail whenever communal tension sparks in Dakshina Kannada adding that we have failed to check exploitation of the Shudras.

Speaking on Dalit scholar Rohit Vemula, he said that it was because of his caste discrimination that he resorted to the extreme step of committing suicide. This should be questioned, he pointed, adding that such issues must be addressed at the earliest.

He also said that Muslim fanaticism is fast growing on par with the saffron activists, which is dangerous. This should be checked, he added.
