Mangaluru: Congress corporator Abdul Ravoof assumed charge as the Leader of the Opposition in the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) on Tuesday, March 3.

After taking charge, Ravoof said that his new role has increased his responsibility. “I thank the leaders of my party for giving me this huge responsibility. I will alert the ruling party of any issues to ensure that the people get basic facilities. I will support the ruling party in their development work and also raise my voice against injustice,” he said.

Meanwhile, former member of the Rajya Sabha B Ibrahim, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde and others congratulated Ravoof for his new position.

Former mayor Bhaskar K, corporators Lancelot Pinto, A C Vinayraj, Naveen D’Souza and other leaders Appi, T K Sudheer, Nazeer Bajal and others were present.
