Mangalore : Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP of Mangalore inaugurated ‘Aatid Radd Dina,’ a unique programme organized by the Rotary Club of Mangalore Central at Panambur Beach on August 9, Friday to enlighten the people on the significance of the month of Aati.
The MP who spoke after inaugurating the event, appreciated the organisers’ efforts in arranging the event, which he said would go a long way in enlightening the masses on the importance of Aati and the customs, traditions and practices associated with it.
Deputy Commissioner N Prakash and Mangalore North MLA BA Mohiuddeen Bawa were the chief guests. Aati Padadana and Aati Kalanja was presented on the occasion by folk artiste Sanjeeva.
Food stalls serving a variety of Aati delicacies were the main attraction of the event. People who gathered for the event were seen thronging the stalls to relish the delicacies on spread including Pathrode, Balyar Chutney, Thekkareda Adde, Tevu Tetla, Kori Sukka, Gendada Adye etc.
