9 hurt in clash at Neermarga

Mangalore:A group clash  that took place at Mallur near Neermarga on October 21, Monday night resulted in injuries to as many as nine persons. It all began during the day when a few youth tried to  rob a Apache bike belonging to a person of another community which was parked in  front of the house of one Kunjanna where a funeral ceremony was underway.

Reports said the bike belonged to one Praveen. When the  attempt to steal the bike came to the notice of a few others, they reprimanded the youth and this ensued in a verbal altercation. In the evening, the same youth allegedly barged into Kunjanna’s house and attacked his family members and neighbours. Even the bike owner was attacked.

Those injured  including Kunjanna, Latha, Praveen, Charan, Sanket, Jayashree, Deepak and Prasad have been hospitalized.

A case has been registered in the local police station.
