Kasargod: After 80 kgs of Ganja was seized from a car two weeks ago, the main accused in the case who remained absconding was nabbed by the police on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Villy D’Souza (26), a resident of Manja Miyapadavu and a car driver by profession.

The Kasargod police had recovered 80 kg of ganja which was being transported in a Duster car on February 15 at Manjeshwar. The chase between the accused and the cops had ended in Villy and other two escaping, leaving the Duster with the Ganja at a particular spot.
On inspecting the vehicle, the police found ganja filled in plastic packets. Police had arrested Villy’s aide Paivalike Baikatte’s Gujari Hameed a week ago in connection to the theft of 1.2 kg of gold and Rs 4.36 lac cash from Thrissur’s jewellery transport agent Tony. During interrogation, Hameed informed about Villy leading to arrest of the latter.
Villy had earlier been arrested for transporting illicit liquor and was released after completing his jail term.
