69 y/o COVID-19 patient discharged; Total recoveries rises to 17

Mangaluru: A 69-year-old man from the Bantwal taluk, who was being treated at the Covid Wenlock Hospital, was discharged after making a full recovery from COVID-19 on Monday, May 18.

With this, a total of 17 persons have been discharged from the hospital recovering from the disease.

The 69-year-old had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 29, after which he was admitted to the Covid Wenlock Hospital for treatment.

Now, since his throat swabs tested negative for the disease, he was discharged from the hospital today.

Among the total COVID-19 cases in the Dakshina Kannada district, five succumbed and 17 have been discharged from the hospital.

As many as 32 people are still receiving treatment at the hospital, of which a 68-year-old woman from Surathkal is in the ICU as she has been suffering from other complications such as respiratory issues, blood pressure and sugar.

The DC also informed that a 76-year-old person, who is among those who tested positive for COVID-19, also suffers from other health issues like blood pressure and sugar. The other 30 persons are recovering, a press release from the DC informed.
