5 legal cattle transporters beaten up by group of 50

Mangalore: Five persons who were transporting cattle with all  proper documents were badly beaten up by a gang of around 50 persons  at Pumpwell in the city  on February 27, Thursday.

The five were transporting five cows  from  Nelyadi to  Kerala in a vehicle when they were intercepted   at Pumpwell and assaulted. It is learnt they were taking the cattle to Thangamma Sebastian of Pariyaram who had purchased it and had all documents to prove the same.

The victims are  33 year old Aassam Sibilo,  40-year-old Dominique Topo,  44-year-old Cibi Cherian, 26-year-old Naufal and 24-year-old Shabeer.

It is learnt they were badly beaten up despite their pleas that it was a legal cattle transportation. The Mangalore Rural Police  rushed to the spot and later on  verifying  the documents said everything were in order and the cattle could be transported.
