Mangaluru: Fate dealt a hard blow when an LKG student was killed on his way to attend a school function on November 22.

The 4-year-old boy, Mohammed Sanad, was travelling in a rickshaw with his mother and younger brother, when they collided head-on with a van in Bariya village of Belthangady taluk.

The boy was sitting next to the exit of the rickshaw when the impact of the collision caused him to be flung out of the vehicle. The boy succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

The boy was on his way to attend his school day programme at Madinathul Munavar English Medium School, Muddadka, when the accident took place.
A case has been registered at the Puttur traffic police station.
