Mangaluru: A 30-year-old Kinnigoli based woman, infected with Covid-19 delivered at COVID Wenlock Hospital on Thursday, June 11.
The woman had returned from Mumbai two days ago and was quarantined as per the prescribed procedure. Her throat swab tested positive for Covid-19 at Wenlock Hospital and since she was pregnant, she was treated in a separate room.
On Thursday, she experienced labor pain after which a team of expert doctors performed delivery through cesarean section and she gave birth to a healthy baby.
As the mother was suffering from high blood pressure and dehydration, all precautions were taken and delivery by cesarean section was preferred. The health condition of both mother and child is stable, the District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Ramachandra Bayari said.
