Puttur: A 23-year-old youth died when he rammed his bike into a pickup van, here on April 28, near Kaudicharu in Ariyadka village on Mani-Mysuru highway.
Pradeep from Malethodi in Kolthige village is the deceased.

The incident occurred when the Sampya police were checking vehicles near Kaudicharu on Mani-Mysuru highway. The police had stopped a pickup van plying towards Sullia from Puttur. The pickup driver slowed down and was about to park the vehicle on the roadside, when Pradeep hit the pickup from behind.

He suffered serious head injuries.

Immediately the Sampya police rushed him to Puttur private hospital. Thereafter he was shifted to Mangaluru hospital for further treatment but he died on the way.
