21-day summer course concludes with rich display of talents at Sandesha

Mangaluru: The 21-day well-planned summer course at Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education concluded with a rich display of talents by the participants here on May 21. The course commenced on May 1.

Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred was the chief guest at the valedictory programme which was presided over by the former principal of Sandesha Fr Jayaprakash D’souza. Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor appreciated the students and said that the aim of organizing the course was to offer children opportunities to sharpen their skills and bring out their inert talent through various activities. These summer camps are useful to identify talent in kids and encourage them to excel, she said.

The participants were given training in Western Vocal, instruments like Guitar, Keyboard, drawing and painting, western dance and public speaking. All the participants performed on the final day of summer course.

As many as 262 students participated in the 21-day course which was the highest number in the 24 years of Sandesha history. Certificates were distributed to all the students and best students were given special prizes. Teachers and the Staff were also honoured on the occasion.

Former Sandesha principal, presently at Pompei college Kirem, Fr Jayaprakash was honoured on the occasion.

The course attracted participants not only from Mangaluru but also from various parts of Karnataka, like Bidar and Kodagu.
