Mangaluru: In a tragic incident that took place on Sunday evening near Padpu Bridge, two young men lost their lives while enjoying a swim in a water-filled pond near the bridge. The victims have been identified as Varun (26) and Vikshit (26).

Following the incident, the authorities have initiated a search operation to locate the missing individuals. After conducting extensive search for several hours, the two bodies have been found. The police and fire brigade were actively involved in conducting the search at the scene.

As per the sources, the two young men were drowned while enjoying a swimming session in the Alape area. Seeing this, Some of their friends tried to rescue them. However, they were unable to save Vikshith and Varun from drowning.

After the recovery, the bodies were immediately shifted to the mortuary for further procedures. A case has been registered and further investigations have been initiated by the authorities.
