Kasargod: An infant girl died after being thrown into the well by her mother on Wednesday, July 18 evening at Eriyal here.

The accused, Naseema, mother of the 18-month-old Shamma is said to be mentally unstable. On Wednesday evening Naseema allegedly threw Shamma into a well in a neighbouring house. Though locals here rushed to the rescue of the baby, she died on the way to the hospital.

The police have registered a case.
