15 yr boy meets watery grave

Mulki : A 15 year old boy met a watery grave while swimming in the Kenchanakere lake in Mulki police station limits on February 2, Sunday. The deceased is  Akshay, son of Indresh, Vinoda couple who hail from Kallahalli  in Chikmagalur district.

The boy, a ninth standard student in CSI School at Karnad was staying at a hostel at Mulki Sadashivanagar. The incident took place when a few hostel inmates including Akshay, Arun, Ganesh, Kiran and Hanumantha had left the hostel after lunch after  permission from the warden saying they would visit Karnad.  Instead, the boys had been to Kenchanakere where Akshay who did not know swimming, stepped into the water and eventually drowned.

Though locals had rushed to help as other boys raised a cry, Akshay died while being taken to hospital.

Mulki police have registered a case.
