14 Bangladeshis living in Venoor without valid documents put behind bars

Belthangady: Though concerns had been raised over the infiltration of Bengaldeshis into Karnataka, in first of its kind operation, 14 Bangladeshis were nabbed by the Venoor police.

In this regard as many as 14 Bangladeshis were nabbed by the Venoor police for living in Venoor Kashipatna area without any valid documents.

What came as a tip off for the Venoor police to act was an incident that took place in Virajpet where a youth was found misbehaving with a girl. It was later learnt that the youth named Jagir was a Bangladeshi and his entire family was living in Kashipatna of Venoor police station limits. The Madikeri police had come to Venoor along with the accused and following this, the Venoor police nabbed 14 Bangladeshis who were employed in various construction sites.

Mohommed Jahangir (26), Abdul Hakim (25), Mohommed Alangir (27), Abdul Halim (19), M D Mohommed Azizulla (19), M D Babu (20), Joharulla Islam (24), Mohommed Sohail Islam (30), Mohommed Iqbal Ali (19), Mohommed Sohail Rana (19), Mohommed Suman Ali (24), Mohommed Momain (20), Mohommed Phulgal (19), Joharul (35) are the arrested persons.

Nisar Ahmed Moodabidri, who had provided them shelter and work too has been taken by the police into custody.

A special team has been formed to trace such infiltrators living in the vicinity and in the days to come more of such actions can be expected. Action will also be taken against those providing employment or shelter to these infiltrators, said Superintendent of Police Bhushan Borase.
