Mangalore: The 13th inter-school Roller Skating Championship organised by the Mangalore Roller Skating Club was held at the Skating Rink near the Kadri Park in the city on February 16, Sunday.  Dayanand, Additional DC inaugurated the event.

In his address, he exhorted youngsters to take active interest in sports and bring laurels to their district and nation. It is only hard work, dedication and sacrifice that will earn us good name in the society, he said.

Ananthakrishna, Ex-officio Chairman of Karnataka Bank presided over the function. He appreciated the efforts put in by the Mangalore Roller Skating Club in training youngsters who have excelled in the field. He also had a word of praise for coach Mahesh who has the credit of even training several differently abled children in skating.

Ananthakrishna further said equal encouragement should be given to various sports including skating  instead of concentrating just on cricket.

Sureshchandra Shetty, President of HMS, Abhijith, Secretary of Digambar Jain Educational Institutions, Mahesh, Coach of Mangalore Roller Skating Club and others were present.
