Moodbidri: In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old lost his life after he accidentally fell into a well, reportedly in a bid to rescue a cat near Ashwathapura Shri Seetharam temple on Wednesday, December 30.
Adarsh Shetty, son of Anil Shetty is the deceased. He was a class 7 student of Vani Vilas aided school.

It is suspected that he might have fallen into the well while trying to rescue a cat. Parents, after realising that their son is missing, started searching for him along with locals. They found slippers near the well and then found his body.

Moodbidri police have registered a case in this regard.

Adarsh was a talented student and was doing well in school. Mourning his tragic demise, the school management has postponed their annual programme which was to be held on Wednesday.

The boy’s father Anil Shetty works as a security guard and his mother works in an Anganwadi.

In what seems to be a series of bad fate, their elder son died in a road accident 3 years ago. The couple has now lost both their children.
