Belthangady :   One person lost his life and three others sustained injuries when  a private bus collided head-on with a  car near Ujire on September 15, Sunday morning.

The  person who lost his life in the mishap is Nityananda (30) from Bangalore. Three other passengers namely Aditya (25), Harshitha (21) and Prajwal(23) sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to a hospital in Ujire.

It is learnt, the four friends from Rajajinagar in Bangalore  had been to Dharmasthala but lost their way and had headed towards Uppinangady from where they proceeded towards   Guruvayanakere. The mishap took place near Ujire Yermodi bridge.

The private bus involved in the mishap was operating on the Dharmasthala-Kollur route.

The driver of the bus escaped as soon as the accident took place.

Belthangady police have registered a case.
