Mangaluru: “During my younger days I received lot of opportunities to lead the community and exhibit my talents. Theatre was my passion then. At the age 22, I took up responsible posts in various organizations and started editing 3 Konkani magazines. Disciplined life and love for my mother tongue made everything possible for me. My tireless attitude and the fighting spirit and the determination to achieve the goal helped me to attain success in distant land Chicago too” opined renowned Chicago-based Konkani writer and social worker Ln. Dr. Austin D’Souza Prabhu.
Dr. Austin Prabhu aired his views, while peaking at the ‘Face to Face’ – a literary dialogue session organized by Konknai Writers and Artistes Association (KWAA ) at Orchid Art Gallerry, Mangaluru

“Discipline always makes leadership stronger. The love of motherland and humanity brings all of us together. Let arrogance not take over the humility in you. Every dream is gettable with hard work where wonders begin to unfold,” said Dr. Austin.

Prior to the session Dr. Austin D’Souza Prabhu was felicitated by Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo, Founder of Vishwa Konkani Kendra, Basti Waman Shenoy and Walter Nandalike.

Walter Nandalike introduced Austin D’Souza Prabhu to the audience. Walter recalled early 1980’s when Austin excelled as Lions Club member and governor in USA. “Austin reached places which we can only dream of. Austin donated without expecting anything in return. He helped all the people who approached him from motherland. It is very difficult to find a gem like Austin,” Walter stated commending Dr. Austin

On the occasion ‘Garjek Podath’, a collection of short stories written by KWAA president Ronald Sequeira was released by Austin D’Souza Prabhu. Executive editor of ‘Arso’ magazine Wilson Kateel introduced the book to the gathering.

Florine Roche, General Secretary of KWAA welcomed the gathering and Treasurer Roshan Madtha rendered vote of thanks.
