Mangaluru: For the first time a tulu film will be released in Shivamogga. Addressing press persons here recently, the director of the film, ‘Chali Polilu’, Kavoor Veerendra Shetty said that this will be the first time that the Tulu film Chali Polilu will be released in Shivamogga and Bhadravati on November 21. He said that it will be released in one cinema hall each in both the towns due to the demands by owners of the halls.

The film will later be released in places such as Kasaragod, Sullia, Kundapur and Mudigere.
Efforts are also on to release the film in Mumbai, Pune and Dubai, he added.
The film had got a good response in the 10 cinemas in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts, netting Rs. 46 lakh in its first week.
The previous high for a Tulu film in its first week was Rs. 22 lakh. At the end of the second week, ‘Chali Polilu’ had collected Rs. 46 lakh.
The film had been made at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh, he said.
Navin Padil, actor, said that the people had liked the message of harmony given in the film. Though the film was comedy-oriented, it was decent humor which was shown in it, he said. To a question, Padil said that though he was acting in films more often, his first love remained the theatre.
“It is from the theatre, I came from. It is a live medium. I will not give up theatre,” he said.
