Kundapur : A road accident reported from near Trasi-Maravanthe beach  near here on December 12, Thursday night has claimed the life of a temple priest, while leaving a doctor injured. The accident occurred when a Qualis car which was returning to Mangalore  was hit by a lorry.

The car, it has been gathered was proceeding from Gokarna after dropping the seer of Gokarna.The deceased is Udaya Kumar (42), a priest at Durgaparameshwari temple, Montimar in Manchi, Bantwal. A doctor named Dr Kishan Kumar Sullia  who too was in the  car escaped with minor injuries.

Eyewitnesses said Udaya Kumar  died of severe head injuries. The lorry driver however escaped soon after the mishap and Kundapur police have launched a search for him.
