Kasargod: A rare stone, picked by a construction worker now leaves eyebrows raised, at Kaniyala near Bayaru.

Nagesh, the worker was on the beach when he found a rare piece of stone. He found it fascinating and brought it home. Wanting to find out more about the lightweight stone, he put it in water, and he was surprised to see it floating. He later made a video of the floating stone and circulated it on social networking sites.

These kinds of stones are one of nature’s wonders. Such stones were earlier discovered in Rameshwar, Tamil Nadu and in other parts of the east coast of India. Such stones have always attracted people towards them.

In the Indian epic Ramayana, during the construction of Rama Sethu between Rameshwaram and Lanka such stones were used, claim mythologists.
