Kasaragod: One person was killed and several others were injured in a buffalo attack at Mogral Puttur in Kasaragod on the evening of Thursday March 9.
The deceased has been identified as Siddique (22), a resident of Chitradurga.
The buffalo, which was brought to a slaughter house in Mogral Puttur, was getting down from the vehicle when the rope was cut off and when he tried to catch him, Siddique was hit. Siddique, who was seriously injured, was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru but did not respond to treatment and died at night.
The buffalo, which ran for kilometres, ran into two shops and damaged them. Apart from this, vehicles were also damaged. More than 20 people were injured when several people tried to run away out of fear.
The environmentalists heaved a sigh of relief as Police and Fire Brigade Personnel managed to catch the buffalo that created panic for hours.
