Kasaragod: The Kumbale Police has arrested a woman who was absconding in connection with the theft of 21 sovereigns of gold jewellery two years ago.
The arrested woman has been identified as Alima (44), a resident of Edaneeru Churimole. She was arrested from near Madikeri.
In 2021, thre was a burglary at the house of one Ibrahim on Goli Mugu Road. Alima, who was working as a domestic help, had gone missing. The gold ornaments were missing from the shelf of the house.
A complaint was lodged with the police against the owner of the house, Alima. Subsequently, Kumbale Police has arrested her on the basis of information that she was hiding in Madikeri.
