Kasaragod: The Neeleshwara Police has arrested an accused in the POCSO case from Assam in connection with the sexual harassment of a minor girl, who had been absconding for the past six years after getting bail.
The accused has been identified as Shekhar Choudhary (42), a resident of Milan in Assam. In 2016, he was working for a plywood company in Chayot and was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing the girl. He was in judicial custody in Kannur Central Jail and later went into hiding after getting bail. The court had issued a warrant against him.
Acting on a tip-off, the Police arrested him from Assam and brought him to Kasaragod.
