Karwar: Burglars broke into a house at Chitrapur in Bhatkal near here and decamped with valuables.

The thieves targetted the house of Sridevi Venkatramana Bhat, located near Shirali Railway Bridge, after noticing that nobody was home. The owner of the house alleged that the thieves stole gold bracelets, chain and other jewellery worth Rs 3 lakhs.

The police along with forensic experts visited the spot and collected evidence. A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Police Station.
