Karwar: A clash broke out between two communities, resulting in a stone pelting incident, after a group of people came to make a model of a Masjid, near the Hanuman Temple arch in Chandavara Naka, Honnavara Taluk.

The incident was reported on December 1.

To control the situation, police resorted to a mild lathi-charge. Several people have been injured in the incident. When a few miscreants pelted stone on the police, to control the situation the latter had to take up the canes.

Police have arrested a Hindu organisation leader Suraj Naik Soni and 50 others.
