Miscreants vandalise Basaveshwara Temple in Sirsi

Karwar: Unidentified miscreants vandalised the Basaveshwara Temple in Sirsi, Uttara Kannada District late on Wednesday night.

Situated along the Sirsi-Korlakatta Road, the temple was built 12 years ago, in a secluded region of Kasturba Nagar. The incident is believed to have occurred while the family that has been performing pooja here for the past 12 years, was out of town.

The miscreants are said to have broken the temple Kalasa and destroyed the walls of the temple. They also threw chilli powder on the road.

Senior police officials visited the place and began their investigation.

A case has been registered in at the Sirsi Rural Police Station.
